How to remove blank pages from a PDF
- Choose or drop the PDF. Pages that look blank are selected automatically.
- Review the selection, and select or deselect pages as needed.
- Select Remove pages and download the cleaned PDF.
How detection works
Every page is rendered in your browser, and pages that are completely or almost completely white are selected. Because this goes by how a page looks, it finds blank backs of scans even when they contain a little scanner noise.
Always review
A page with only a faint mark, such as a light page number or a short pencil note, may be counted as blank. Look through the selection before saving and deselect any page you want to keep.
Questions about Remove blank pages
Are my files uploaded when I remove blank pages?
No. Scissor PDF runs a PDF engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your disk into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.
Will it delete pages without asking?
No. Blank pages are only selected. You review the selection and decide before anything is saved.
Why was a page with a little text selected?
Detection is based on appearance, so a page with only a faint mark can look blank. Deselect it before saving.
Can I remove other pages at the same time?
Yes. Select any extra pages you want gone before you save.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no account, no daily task limit and no watermark added to your documents. Because the work happens on your own computer, there is no server cost per file for us to recover.
