How to crop a PDF

  1. Choose or drop the PDF.
  2. Drag the edges of the frame on the preview, or type each margin as a percentage of the page.
  3. Choose all pages or some, then select Crop PDF.

Lossless cropping

Cropping sets the visible area of each page instead of cutting the content, so text stays sharp and searchable and the file size barely changes. Rotated pages are cropped on the edges you see.

Good to know

Content outside the crop is hidden, not erased. Do not rely on cropping to remove sensitive information; someone with editing software could reveal it.

Questions about Crop PDF

Are my files uploaded when I crop a PDF?

No. Scissor PDF runs a PDF engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your disk into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes. Choose Some pages and type them, for example 1, 3-5. Other pages keep their original size.

Will cropping make my file smaller?

Barely, because the content is hidden rather than removed. To make the file smaller, use Compress PDF.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is free, with no account, no daily task limit and no watermark added to your documents. Because the work happens on your own computer, there is no server cost per file for us to recover.
