How to convert PDF to JPG
- Choose or drop the PDF.
- Select the pages to convert (all by default), the format and the resolution.
- Select Convert to images. One page downloads as an image, several come as a ZIP.
Resolution guide
Standard (108 DPI) suits screens and messaging. High (144 DPI) is sharp on high-resolution displays and in presentations. Print (216 DPI) is for printing and zooming in on detail.
JPG or PNG?
JPG makes smaller files and suits pages with photos. PNG is lossless and keeps text and line art crisp, at a larger size.
Questions about PDF to JPG
Are my files uploaded when I convert a PDF to images?
No. Scissor PDF runs a PDF engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your disk into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.
Can I convert just one page?
Yes. Deselect all, click the page you want, and convert. A single page downloads directly as an image, without a ZIP.
Which renderer is used?
Pages are drawn by PDF.js, the open-source PDF renderer built into Firefox, running locally in your browser.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no account, no daily task limit and no watermark added to your documents. Because the work happens on your own computer, there is no server cost per file for us to recover.
