How to convert a PDF to a long image
- Choose or drop the PDF.
- Pick all pages or the ones you need, and choose PNG or JPG.
- Select Create image and download it.
PNG or JPG
PNG keeps text and lines crisp and suits documents, menus and slides. JPG makes a smaller file, which helps with photo-heavy pages and with apps that limit image size.
Very long documents
Browsers limit how large a single image can be. When a document is very long, the resolution is lowered automatically so it still fits. For many pages, select only the ones you need, or use PDF to PNG to get one image per page.
Questions about PDF to long image
Are my files uploaded when I convert a PDF to a long image?
No. Scissor PDF runs a PDF engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your disk into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.
Why is my long image less sharp than expected?
The browser has a maximum image size. For long documents the resolution is reduced automatically to stay within it. Choose fewer pages for more detail.
Can I include only some pages?
Yes. Select the pages you want and only those are stitched together.
Should I choose PNG or JPG?
PNG for text and graphics, JPG for a smaller file or pages with lots of photos.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no account, no daily task limit and no watermark added to your documents. Because the work happens on your own computer, there is no server cost per file for us to recover.
