How to combine odd and even pages
- Add the PDF with the front pages as the first file and the back pages as the second.
- Turn on Reverse second file if the backs were scanned last page first.
- Select Combine pages and download the double-sided PDF.
How the pages are mixed
Pages alternate: page 1 from the first file, page 1 from the second, page 2 from the first, and so on. If one file has more pages, its remaining pages are added at the end.
Why reverse the second file
When you turn the stack over to scan the backs, the last back is scanned first. Reverse second file corrects this, so each back lands behind its own front.
Questions about Combine odd and even pages
Are my files uploaded when I combine odd and even pages?
No. Scissor PDF runs a PDF engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your disk into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.
Which file should go first?
The file with the front pages (1, 3, 5...). The second file supplies the back pages.
When should I use Reverse second file?
When the backs came out in reverse order, which is usual when you flip the whole stack and feed it again.
What if the two files have different page counts?
The pages alternate as long as both files have pages. Any extra pages from the longer file are added at the end.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no account, no daily task limit and no watermark added to your documents. Because the work happens on your own computer, there is no server cost per file for us to recover.
